Tonight, I was going to a professional evening dinner and networking meeting and I was driving in the dark in snowy New Jersey and it suddenly dawned on me that each pair of head lights right at this particular time of night were all people heading home after a long day of work.
As I drove down the interstate and I saw pairs of head lights after pairs of head lights I wondered if the people behind the wheel actually knew how fortunate they were to be driving home from a job. Then I thought, I believe I will just offer up a prayer to each driver to be aware that he or she is very blessed to be able to drive home from a job. Blessed that they have gas in that car. Blessed that they have a car to drive.
Suddenly, the lights seem to soften from the glare that they had been only a moment before. I felt much lighter and I noticed I was smiling and singing along with the radio.
Counting your own blessings daily is a very positive experience and way to live. It is doubled when you pass the blessing on to others.
Try it and see what happens!

Coaching vs Self Help

Janice Bastani
What was going on in your life where you thought....hum....I have no clue how to accomplish that...I need some help...."? Today, you can quickly go to the internet, but the 100% probability that you will become distracted and be all over the place and forget what you were orginally there for is huge!
This type of activity can be very negative and over whelm is sure to set in. In Energy coaching, we call that "Catabolic". We call it that because this does not move you forward. Moving forward is what you are looking for and the coach is looking for.
A coach is a person who is in the business of lifting up other people and pointing them through questions to the path that they are looking for. The client (we coaches have found out) is very smart and they need just a little probing in order to find that answer or direction that they were searching for in the self-help industry.
Here's what I am talking about. Let's use me and my first experience. I was a newlywed and suddenly the lovely diamond ring came with a truck load of responsibility that although it was lofty and seemed wonderful was actually daunting. I suddenly had, a home, all his stuff, all of my stuff, a job, his job, our cars, meals, laundry, bills, habits, gifts (the good, the bad and the downright ugly) to deal with, and all of the other mirad of things that go with combining two lives and two households.
I need "ORGANIZATION" help. A book has to be read and digested and then tasks need to be done. In coaching the coach is your helper so to speak. The coach helps you break down the mountain and prioritize the what gets done first and then the second thing, then the third thing and so on. Along with that breakdown and prioritizing comes encouragement, venting, feelings expressed, congratulations and a partner to walk up that mountain until it is just a small bump in the road.
Stress disappears when you share it with someone who is not emotionally attached to the outcome of the project at hand.
What is you mountain?
Who is your coach?
If you are interested in exploring what engaging a coach is like; I would be happy to speak with you at no charge.
Your mountain isn't going away anytime soon.
It's only a phone call....you have no obligation what so ever.
